Snap-On Implant-Supported Dentures

Traditional Full-Arch Dentures

The Denture Process

Receiving dentures is simple. Once you have decided to get dentures, the team at Radiance Family & Cosmetic Dentistry will guide you through the following process:

• Consultation: Dr. Rath will assess your dental health and discuss the best type of dentures for your needs.
• Impressions: Impressions of your gums, implants, and remaining teeth are taken to create custom dentures.
• Extractions: The rest of your teeth are removed, if needed.
• Fitting: The dentures are fitted and adjusted to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
• Follow-Up Care: Instructions for caring for your new dentures will be provided to ensure their longevity.

For implant-supported or snap-on dentures, you will need to have your implants placed by a specialist.

Choosing Between Traditional Dentures and Implant-Supported Dentures

When considering dentures, one of the most important decisions is picking between traditional or implant-supported dentures. Both options restore function and appearance, but the best fit depends on your oral health, lifestyle, and long-term goals.

Traditional Dentures are often recommended for patients who need a quick and non-surgical solution for replacing all teeth in an arch. They are custom-made to rest on your gums and can be secured with suction or adhesives. This makes them an effective and affordable option for patients who may not be candidates for implant treatment or who prefer a less invasive approach.

Implant-Supported Dentures offer additional security and comfort. These dentures attach to a series of dental implants placed in the jaw, giving them a stable foundation. Because they do not shift or slip, implant-supported dentures feel more natural, allow for easier chewing, and provide better support for the jawbone.

To qualify for implant-supported dentures, we recommend that you have:

• Sufficient Jawbone Density: A healthy amount of bone is needed to support implants. If bone loss has occurred, grafting may be recommended before placement.
• Healthy Gums: Gum disease should be treated before implants are considered.
• Good Overall Health: Patients should be free from medical conditions that interfere with healing, such as uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking.
