Leave Your Lack of Confidence Behind
Having a less-than-stunning smile can have several negative effects. You may find that you are less confident in public, that you hide your smile, or that you dislike your appearance in the mirror. Living with these issues long-term can even have a negative effect on your mental health.
When you work with Dr. Rath, you can find customizable solutions to your cosmetic concerns, with a full smile makeover. This treatment plan enhances your smile in many ways, ensuring that you can regain confidence in your appearance once more.
What Is a Smile Makeover?
A smile makeover is a treatment plan that usually involves multiple cosmetic treatments, such as dental bonding and veneers. A smile makeover plan is conceived during a cosmetic consultation and works best for those who have multiple cosmetic issues such as:
- Crooked or Gapped Teeth
- Tooth Discoloration
- Misshapen Teeth
- Cracks or Chips
- Wrinkles or Fine Lines
Smile makeover treatments are best for cosmetic improvements, but if you need additional reconstructive work such as tooth replacement options, we may recommend a full mouth reconstruction.
Our Smile Makeover Treatment Options
We use all of our cosmetic dentistry treatments in a smile makeover. Those include:
- Invisalign: Invisalign straightens your teeth all while being invisible. It uses clear aligners to move your teeth over 1–2 years.
- Botox: Eliminate fine lines and wrinkles around your smile, making it easier to notice other cosmetic enhancements to your smile.
- Teeth Whitening: We offer convenient take-home whitening kits that can instantly give your teeth a new look.
- Veneers: Veneers are shells placed on the front of one or many teeth to fix any appearance issues such as cracks or chips.
- Dental Bonding: Dental bonding can repair the shape of your teeth, protect exposed tooth roots, and fix chips in a smile, all in one short visit.
- Crowns: Crowns cover an entire tooth, and can function as a restorative and cosmetic treatment for a damaged tooth.
Dr. Rath will help you decide what options can help you best! For example, Invisalign can be a good option for misaligned teeth, and combined with whitening it freshens up your entire look.

The Smile Makeover Process

The smile design process is very unique for each person. One of the most powerful things about a smile design is how unique they are. There are some consistent things throughout every care plan though.
Deciding What Works for You
The first step to a smile design is a consultation. During this consultation, we will talk about your concerns with your smile and then Dr. Rath can make personalized recommendations based on what you want to change.
These consultations typically take about an hour and involve Dr. Rath and some of our other care team. We will take “before pictures” so you can see just how much your smile has changed when you are done with your treatments!
Once we have discussed what treatments would be best for you, we can discuss timelines and give you a cost estimate. As much as possible, we will keep in mind any dates that you want your smile prepared for, such as a wedding or graduation. Some treatments, such as Invisalign, may not be the best suggestion if you are looking to enhance your smile in the next few months.
The Right Order of Treatments
We will start with treatments that need to be done first or take the longest to complete, such as Invisalign. Invisalign often has to be done before any other treatments.
We will also address any oral health concerns that may be damaging the aesthetics of your smile before we can offer things such as veneers or whitening.
Combine Treatments When Possible
If you need certain treatments such as crowns, veneers, or dental bonding, we may be able to do those all in one visit. We will apply local anesthesia or administer sedation and then restore several of your teeth at the same time.
If a dental crown is involved, we will get a custom impression at an earlier visit, and place your permanent crown along with your other treatments.
Pictures and Long-Term Care
We want every patient to enjoy their new smile, so we will take after pictures and compare them to your before pictures. Now, you get to live life with a healthy smile and improved confidence. You can follow us on social media to see other patients’ before and after pictures!
We also place a high emphasis on maintaining your cosmetic work and your overall health. Be sure to visit us for routine visits after your smile makeover is complete.rofessional with unparalleled precision and a deep commitment to patient satisfaction. Ready to refresh your look? Using Sedation Dentistry for Easier Care
Dr. Rath offers nitrous oxide to ease any anxieties you have during your appointments. Along with our nitrous oxide, we will apply local anesthetic for certain treatments such as crowns and veneers, so you don’t experience any sensitivity while we prepare your teeth.
Nitrous oxide is a completely safe sedation, used via a mask over the nose. It offers a light relaxation while allowing you to talk and collaborate with your dentists. If you are interested in sedation dentistry at your next appointment, you can contact us or visit our sedation dentistry page.
